Frequently asked questions
- Is the service affected by rain, strong winds, or other weather?
Not normally. We engineer your high-speed connection to continue to work in most weather conditions. Very heavy rain or severe storms may temporarily degrade speed, though this is not unusual. Should unusually severe weather cause damage to our tower equipment or the radio equipment on your home, we will dispatch repair services as quickly as possible to get services fully restored.
- How big is the antenna that you place on my roof?
There are multiple types of antennas which we might place on your roof. The smallest is about the size of a 1 liter soda bottle and the largest is the same size as that used by satellite TV.
- What if we move our business?
If you move your business to another location where Simply Bits provides service, you can simply request to have your service moved for a small installation fee. If you move outside our service area, please contact your residential sales specialist or commercial account manager to discuss options.
- What happens if I sell my home or move?
If you sell your home or move, you can simply request to have your residential service moved for a small move fee. If you are moving outside our service area, please contact Simply Bits for more information.
- Can I port an existing phone number into the service?
Yes. Most land-line numbers can be ported if you own the number.
Other numbers cannot be ported: cell numbers, toll-free numbers, and certain numbers on non-standard carriers.
We cannot guarantee that your number(s) can be ported.
- Can I use my VPN client on your service?
Generally speaking, yes, you can use any VPN client on our service. We do not block outbound PPTP or IPSEC connections. If your VPN client is either of these two types it should work.
