Gmail is blocking my voicemail or fax attachments

Not getting your voicemail or fax attachments in Gmail? You’re not alone. Some Gmail users are find that voice-to-email or FaxToGo messages aren’t making it to their inbox. Here’s what’s likely going on–and how to fix it.

Symptoms

  • You're not receiving voicemail attachments sent to your email.
  • FaxToGo files aren’t showing up in your Gmail inbox.

What’s causing it?

Gmail is likely flagging these messages as spam by mistake. To make sure your voicemail and fax emails go straight to your inbox, you’ll need to set up a custom filter.

How to fix it

Follow these steps in Gmail to create a filter that keeps your messages out of the spam folder:

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. In the search bar at the top, click the Show search options icon.
  3. In the From field, enter:
    voicemail@simplybits.com|support@simplybits.com|FaxToGo@FaxToGo.com
  4. Click Create filter with this search.
  5. Check the box for Never send it to Spam.
  6. Click Create filter again to finish.

You should now see the new filter listed under your Gmail settings. Future voicemail and fax emails from these addresses will land safely in your inbox.
