Troubleshooting a device with no service

No service? Don’t worry—we’re here to help. Whether you’ve recently activated, switched devices, or encountered a service hiccup, follow these steps to get back to enjoying Ting service in no time.

Recently swapped devices?

Confirm your old device is no longer active. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Ting account.
  2. Navigate to Device Settings and locate your phone number.
  3. Check the IMEI to ensure it matches your new device.
  4. Confirm the ICCID matches your current SIM if you’re using a physical SIM.

Try these troubleshooting steps

1. Check airplane mode

  • Ensure Airplane mode is off.

2. Restart and reseat

  • Remove and reinsert your SIM card.
  • Restart your phone.

3. Update your software

Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Select Software Update.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
iPhone
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Software Update.
  4. Tap Install Now if an update is available.

4. Reset network settings

Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Select Reset Options.
  4. Choose Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  5. Tap Reset Settings to confirm.
iPhone
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Select Reset Network Settings.

5. Check data settings

6. Check your network operator

Android
  1. Open your settings.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Select Mobile networks.
  4. Tap Network operators.
  5. Ensure Ting is selected.

7. Confirm your phone is unlocked

If you have no service after a new activation, check that your device is not locked to your old carrier.
