Porting your number to Simply Bits

Yes, you can bring your number with you! In most cases, we can port your existing landline number to Simply Bits. There are a few things to keep in mind, and we’ll walk you through what to expect.

Can I port my number?

In most cases, yes–if it’s a landline number you own.
Some types of numbers can’t be ported, including:

  • Cell phone numbers
  • Toll-free numbers
  • Numbers from non-standard or unsupported carriers

We can’t guarantee every number is eligible, but we’re happy to check for you.

How long does it take?

It depends on a few factors–especially the type of number and how cooperative your current carrier is.

  • Mobile numbers usually port within 24 hours
  • Landline numbers generally port within 7 days
  • In rare cases, it may take up to 30 days

Tips for a smooth porting process

  • Keep your current service active and paid until the port is complete
  • Do not cancel your existing service before your number is fully ported
  • Plan ahead– especially if your current service is ending soon. Porting can take up to a month, so don’t leave it to the last minute
