Tips to help your router (connection box) work better
Just like your computer or smartphone, your eero (your home box) keeps a short-term memory of the websites you visit. This helps speed things up when you go back to the same site–it doesn’t have to “look it up” again.
But over time, your router’s memory can get a little cluttered or even hold on to errors. That can cause certain websites or apps to stop working the way they should. The simple fix? Give your eero a quick restart.
How to clear your eero's memory (your home box)
The easiest way to refresh your Ting router is by power cycling it. That’s just a fancy way of saying “turn it off and back on.”
Here’s how:
- Unplug the power cord from the eero (or from the wall).
- Wait about 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in.
- Wait a few minutes for the lights to come back on and reconnect.
That’s it! Once restarted, your router has a fresh start, and you’ll often notice websites and apps loading more smoothly.
How often should you restart?
We recommend restarting your eero every couple of months or anytime your internet feels a little “off.” It’s a quick step that helps keep your connection strong and reliable.
