Understanding Ting's legacy pay-per-use rates

If you're sticking with our previous pay-per-use rates (Legacy rates), here’s what you need to know. While these rates aren’t available to new customers, existing customers on these plans can continue to use them.

What are Ting's pay-per-use rates?

Ting’s classic model charges you only for what you use—minutes, messages, and data. These rates vary depending on your usage each month. You’ll also pay a $6 monthly line fee, even if you don’t use any talk, text, or data.

Voice and text usage

Calls and texts are billed for both outgoing and incoming activity.

  • Calls: Billed by the minute and rounded up. A 10-minute and 45-second call? You’ll be billed for 11 minutes.
  • Texts: Every message you send and receive counts.
Do I need a separate data plan?

Nope. Just like with calls and texts, you only pay for the data you use. Don’t use data? You won’t be charged for it.

What about Ting-to-Ting calls?

Even if you're calling someone on your account, both lines are billed. So, a 5-minute call between two Ting lines on the same account? That’s 10 minutes total.

Roaming and long-distance
  • Roaming (US): No surcharges for voice or text while roaming in the US.
  • International: Additional charges may apply if you're traveling outside the US.
  • Data roaming: Not available with pay-per-use plans.
  • Long distance: Calling over 60 countries is free! For other countries, you’ll pay your regular rate plus a per-minute surcharge. Domestic long-distance calls are included in your minutes.
