How to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot
iPhone
- On your phone, tap Settings
- Select Personal Hotspot.
- Tap Allow Others to Join
- Then, tap Wi-Fi Password to change the password for your shared network.
- Connect your devices using the hotspot name and password.
Android
- Open Settings on your phone.
- Tap Connections (or Network & Internet).
- Choose Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
- Select Mobile Hotspot.
- Turn on the hotspot and tap Configure to set your password.
- Connect your devices using the network details.
Pixel
- On your device, Tap Settings.
- Select Network & internet.
- Tap Hotspot & tethering.
- Tap Wi-Fi hotspot, and tap the switch to turn it on.
- Once you’ve turned it on, you can tap Hotspot password to change it to something difficult enough to help keep unwelcome guests from joining.
